Yoshi's island is downright awsome. There plot's a little akward, but funny. Most of the levels consist of the same basic principle: get to the end with the most stats, and fight a boss after every 4 levels. This may seem boring, but every level is different. Plus, if you finish enough levels with high stats, you unlock bonus games at (you guessed it) secret levels (ok, maybe you didn't guess it.) Anyway, the graphics are what got me. This was one of those games that you could tell what was going on without having to have a light-up screen. This is a great game!
Yoshi's Island is a pretty well made game with great graphics for the system it's on, the story and levels are cool, the boss fights are fun, and the worlds are totally different from one another. You will not find another Mario game like it.
The only flaw is that it's too short. When I played it, I wasn't a big gamer, and I beat it in a week. In the game you play as Yoshi and his siblings to bring Baby Mario and Luigi back together. Your quest is to save Luigi from a wizard koopa guy who thinks that Baby Mario and Luigi will one day thwart Bowser's plans. After defeating all the bosses (including Baby Bowser) you'll earn 6 new levels that weren't in the original for the SNES. This is one of the best platformers for the GBA that I can think of. The worlds and boss battles are unique. One of the worlds is a jungle were you have to fight off monkeys that throw melons and whatnot at passerby. Controlling Yoshi is as fun, if not funner, than controlling Kirby. Yoshi can suck up many things an use them as weapons. For instance he can suck up watermelons and spit out seeds like an AK-47. He also can turn into helicopters, submarines, and other vehicles. Anyone can pick up this game and play it and have fun.
